Save the Children Open Tennis Challenge

STC’s annual mixed doubles competition is visiting some of Britain’s most famous tennis venues over the next two months and they’re looking for players to dust off their rackets and get involved.

The preliminary rounds kick off at the Queen’s Club on October 26 and will take in the All England Club , the Harbour Club in Chelsea and the Edgbaston Priory Club in Birmingham, with the winners from each venue progressing to the grand final at the National Tennis Centre in Roehampton on December 8.

If you progress to the national finals at the home of British tennis you will have the opportunity to meet, and maybe even play with, some tennis-playing celebrities. Last year Britain's Laura Robson presented the prizes and Ian Hislop, editor of Private Eye, played a doubles match with the player who had raised the most money.

This is an open challenge so there is no formal standard of play for entry, although some previous playing experience is recommended and your LTA rating should be no better than 6.1. All partnerships must pay an entry fee of £50 and are encouraged to set up a Just Giving page to raise some sponsorship.
