Roger Federer

A late entrant to the Barclays ATP World Tour Finals, Robin Soderling wasted no time in stamping his mark on the competition. Powering past Rafael Nadal 6-4, 6-4 in his Group B opener, the Swede produced an equally assured victory over World No. 3 Novak Djokovic on Wednesday, charging past the rattled Serb 7-6(5), 6-1.

Tour journeyman Nikolay Davydenko stunned a packed O2 crowd by dumping Rafael Nadal out of the competition in the evening session, attacking all the way to a fourth career victory over the Spaniard, coming through 6-1, 7-6(4).

Roger Federer was also present, turning up on his day off to claim the award of Barclays ATP World Tour Champion after sealing the year ending No.1 spot.

In the doubles, American pair Bob and Mike Bryan looked back to their best after an opening round robin defeat, brushing aside the challenge of Lukas Dlouhy and Leander Paes to assure a comfortable 6-3, 6-4 outcome.

Lukasz Kubot and Oliver Marach faced a real battle against Max Mirnyi and Andy Ram in the earlier session, saving three match points to triumph 4-6, 6-4, 16-14 and maintain their undefeated run in the Group B.
