Another day, another shed-load of great photos of the world’s best tennis players – we like to deliver on Tennishead!
Day two at the Rogers Cup WTA tier 1 event in Montreal was full of surprises, none more shocking than the second round exit of fifth seed Elena Dementieva, who crashed in straight sets to striking Slovak Dominika Cibulkova in the night session.
Eighth seed Vera Zvonareva also had to settle for second best against Frenchwoman Virginie Razzano, although fourth seed Svetlana Kuznetsova made it safely through to the last 16.
Earlier in the day, there were wins for Maria Kirilenko against Anne Keothavong, and joining the Russian in the second round were 11th seed Victoria Azarenka, 12th seed Nadia Petrova and 15th seed Flavia Pennetta.
Sixteenth seed Nicole Vaidisova had to endure another topsy-turvey day at the office and eventually lost to tricky Japanese Ai Sugiyama in three sets.
Tuesday also saw wins for Sybille Bammer, Alisa Kleybanova, Aleksandra Wozniak, Marta Domachowska, Jill Craybas and Hungarian Melinda Czink.
And, you’ve guessed it, the Tennishead snapper was on site to capture it all using his vast array of cameras and long lenses.
Enjoy.
