Strictly exit leaves bouncy Castle feeling deflated

“I’ll never forget it,” said Andrew Castle as his Strictly Come Dancing days came to an end live on BBC1 on Sunday evening.

He’s not alone – neither will we! Saturday and Sunday nights won’t be the same without the spectacle of the GMTV presenter and former British No.1 gyrating his way around the BBC dancefloor.

Castle and Ola Jordan were kicked off Strictly on Sunday after being out-Samba-d by singer Heather Small and her pro partner in the live dance-off.

Andy and Ola had hoped the combination of shimmies, a plunging v-neck and some vigorous chest shaking would persuade the British public to come to their rescue in week seven – if only it had been Ola’s chest that was doing the shaking their plan may have worked…

Judge Arlene described the former world No.141 as being “in the frozen food aisle… You’ve got to get out into exotic food!” she pleaded, while Len asked for more bouncy castle than Andrew Castle.

The public inevitably pitched them into Sunday night dance-off territory, and despite more shaking, shimmying and moody stares, it wasn’t enough with all four judges voting to send Castle on his way.

So far we’ve had Greg Rusedski dancing on ice, Monica Seles and Castle ballroom dancing and Mark Philippoussis dating the opposite sex all while the cameras rolled. Keep ‘em coming we say – we love it!

But who will provide the next marriage between tennis and reality TV? Perhaps Boris Becker on Wife Swap, Lindsay Davenport on Ten Years Younger or maybe Extreme Celebrity Detox featuring Martina Hingis…
